Today was sunny so we went outside for a few minutes to play in the grass. Tyler absolutely loves being outside, so we are looking forward to summer!
The slow-motion effect in the video was all done in-camera (not on the computer) using a technique called “overcranking”. Commonly used in filmmaking, it uses optical re-timing to create a natural and very clear slow motion effect by recording footage onto the camera at a much higher frame-rate than it will be played back at. In this video here, I recorded at 60 frames-per-second and then am playing it back at 24 frames-per-second, which gives you a playback speed of 40% when compared to to real-time. The inverse is also possible to do, if you want to make something move faster (like a car chase, etc.) and it’s called “undercranking”. Cool, huh?
Enjoy!

The title of that movie is “one soccer player is still borning in Utah”. Landscape is a little sad, because in that season it seems that trees were dead. But summer comes soon, and whit it, for Tyler the opportunity to play outdoors.
Very good work…congratulations for the cameraman and her beautiful wife. Hugs.
Dear Ryan and Laura,
How fun to see sweet Tyler…he is getting so big! He is good at exploring, playing ball and climbing down the front steps. The slow motion aspect was cool…nice work.
Thanks for sharing!
Love,
Mom
Tyler the Tiger. By the end of the summer, he will be bouncing the ball between his knee and his head. What a cutie. Nice photography.
Cool! Excited to see my little nephew again soon!
Uncle Ryan,
We just watched this cute movie that our Mom watched a month ago and it was really fun. We think Tyler is so cute.
Love, Kaylie, Cameron, Dallyn and Kyler
